Three years ago, I moved to Socorro, New Mexico and started my first semester at New Mexico Tech. With cactus to my right and a bunch of nerdy college students to my left, I began a new journey. Within a week, my now husband invited me to a church service where I met Phil and Haylee. Phil was (and still is) the pastor of the church. I was blown away by how young he was. I always imagine pastors as being old and gray, no offense to all the other young pastors out there!
Ha, anyways, it didn’t take long for us to become friends. Phil and Haylee have been there for my husband and I through the awkward pre-dating stages, our engagement and wedding planning process, and now they lend a hand whenever we need marriage advice! Haylee and I have discussed everything from our favorite books to struggles we have faced as wives in the many hours she has spent cutting and dying my hair (she is the best hair stylist probably ever).
I loved having the chance to capture a little moment in Phil and Haylee’s love story. Not to mention, this desert couple session was gorgeous! It doesn’t take very long talking with them to see that they are a perfect match, and that God’s hand was all over their relationship! They both bring so much light and joy into the room. You can’t help but have a great time when they are around!
Phil and Haylee, thank you so much for your friendship and the wisdom you have spoken in to Bryan and I’s lives! Thank you for the laughter and the nights spent playing Jackbox TV. I want to include a special thank you for Haylee and the all the hand-me-downs she has given me. This poor college student appreciates you! Ha. I hope you love your pictures as much as I do!
